We are committed to capturing joyful memories and delivering exceptional experiences, and that includes safeguarding every image entrusted to our care. Who We Are
Visual Image Photography is a Midwest based school photography company serving schools throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, and surrounding communities.
We work directly with schools and families and make decisions locally with long term partnerships in mind. We do not resell data or monetize student information. Our focus is providing high quality, school authorized photography services with professionalism, craftsmanship, and care.
Many members of our team live in the communities we serve. We believe trust is earned through consistency, integrity, and doing the right thing.
How Student Images Are Used
Student images are used only for school authorized purposes, including:
- Secure proofing and online gallery access
- Ordering and fulfillment of purchased products
- Retakes and reprints
- Yearbook, ID, and other school approved needs
We do not use student images for unrelated purposes.
As the copyright holder, Visual Image Photography may use select images to promote our services in accordance with applicable laws and school agreements.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not sell student images or student data
- We do not license or distribute images to third parties
- We do not allow public browsing of student images
- We do not use student images to train artificial intelligence systems
Security and Compliance
Access to student images is limited to authorized, trained staff and approved service providers who require access to perform school authorized services. Access is restricted based on job role.
We support schools in complying with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, FERPA.
In Illinois, we also support compliance with the Student Online Personal Protection Act, SOPPA. SOPPA compliance ensures Illinois school districts, the state board of education, and EdTech vendors protect student data privacy.
Schools provide limited directory information such as student name, grade, and teacher for identification purposes only. We do not receive sensitive personal data such as Social Security numbers, medical records, academic records, or financial information.
